28% of the score 

Is duct cleaning the whole business, or an add-on sold after an HVAC visit?

### Longevity & stability

22% of the score 

Years actually operating in Middle Tennessee under the same ownership.

### Review strength

20% of the score 

Volume, rating and — critically — whether the reviews are about duct work.

### Pricing transparency

15% of the score 

Published rates and firm quotes beat 'call us' and lowest-price slogans.

### Credentials

5% of the score 

NADCA membership, ASCS/CVI technicians, BBB accreditation and insurance. Useful to know, but treated as a small tie-breaker — several established Nashville specialists are not NADCA members.

### Nashville coverage

10% of the score 

How much of the Nashville metro the crews actually reach from their base.

## Why these weights

Duct cleaning has a well-known problem: much of it is sold as an add-on after an HVAC service call, or by out-of-town crews running a coupon price and then upselling on the driveway. The two strongest defences a homeowner has are picking a company that does nothing but ducts and vents, and picking one that has been doing it in Middle Tennessee long enough to have a reputation worth protecting. That is why specialization (28%) and longevity (22%) carry the most weight.

Review strength sits at 20% but is judged on quality, not just stars — a 5-star average built on plumbing reviews tells you nothing about duct work. Pricing transparency is 15% because a published rate is a commitment; "call for pricing" is not. Credentials are listed fifth at 5%: NADCA membership is genuinely useful information, but in this market several of the most established specialists are not members, so it informs the score rather than decides it. Coverage is 10%, for how much of the metro a crew genuinely reaches.
